A podcast debunking the latest wellness and nutritional fads with Rosemary Ferguson and Eve Kalinik

Cut through the noise
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to get reliable information related to our health and wellbeing. The Wellness Breakdown cuts through the noise to debunk and decipher the many (and sometimes mad!) latest wellness and nutritional fads taking over our social media feeds.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
The Wellness Breakdown podcast invites you to settle in for a conversion between two friends, Nutritional Therapist and Author, Eve Kalinik and Nutritionist and Functional Medicine Practitioner, Rosemary Ferguson. Their relatable dialogue draws from their combined years of expert insight, addressing the questions around the myriad wellness trends you really want answered.
Each week either Eve or Rosemary will set the other a challenge to test the velocity and effects of a different topical nutrition or wellness trend, before sharing their personal experience and advice. In this first series, they explore a range of themes, including the effects of giving up caffeine, the results of drinking a glass of red wine per night, intermittent fasting, digital detoxing and the rising trend of cold water showers, to name a few!

Acupuncture is based on an ancient Chinese medicine philosophy using needles to trigger specific points in order to influence areas of the body and to bring into alignment ‘qi’ which refers to the body’s life-giving force. Despite this sounding a little woo woo to some people the anecdotal evidence is vast and there are more and more scientific studies to demonstrate its effects on chronic pain, hormone balancing and reducing stress.
So with this in mind we wanted to see if it can be a point in the right direction and this is the challenge for this week’s episode.
The rules: Rose has to go for 1 acupuncture session every week for 4 weeks.
Can this help address Rose’s longstanding shoulder injury and help balance some of the stressors in her life? Or does it live up to her rather sceptical expectations?
Listen in to find out!
